This is a really poignant illustration of the seductive nature of glorifying war but that is a LOOK and she is SERVING it
I’ve seen Death depicted as a card dealer or other sort of gambler, a guy in a suit, a farmer, a robed apparition, and any other number of things, but this? This has to be the best Death I’ve seen yet. An old seductress saying “hey kid, don’t you wanna die in a trench for a government that doesn’t give a fuck about you, just like your dear old dad?” This goes hard as fuck.
Do you ever think about the fact that Buggy only started branding himself as a clown AFTER Roger was executed, after the Roger pirates disbanded, after he and Shanks went their separate ways?
Do you ever think about the fact, that he started branding himself by the ONE feature of his he, to this day and ever since childhood, is extremely self-conscious of? Going so far as to put it on his Jolly Roger even though he can’t even hear people talk about things that remind him of his nose, without getting self-conscious/offended?
Do you ever think that maybe, after all of his friends, his family was gone from his life, there was no one left to “defend” him, when people would point out his nose and laugh and call him a clown, so he decided to just roll with the punches?
Claim the name to make it hurt less?
Collect all the “Freaks” he could find in the East Blue and turn them into a fearsome pirate crew so that THEY could decide who gets to laugh?
